This is Essie Lapis of Luxury (or Lapiz as my stupid retail label says… why?). Anyway, this is a beautiful light, slightly dusty, cornflower blue. It’s a little bit of a jelly, but not quite as sheer as most. This was one of my first polish purchases last summer when I started going a little bit crazy with the polish buying, and I wore it once. Yup, as pretty as it is, and as much as I love it now, it was definitely outside my comfort zone a year ago.
This is three coats with Essie Good to Go. Like I said, it’s a little bit of a jelly, so it needs the third coat for opacity, but it’s not difficult to work with at all.
Sorry about my bad cuticles in these photos, I didn’t notice until I was editing, and by then I had taken the polish off and it was too late to retake.
I believe this was part of the resort collection from 2010, but it’s not part of the core line, and can be found in the larger Essie retail displays.
I do really love this color – it’s so pretty, especially in combination with the slight squishiness of it. I can’t get enough of Essie’s blues and greens! They’re some of my favorite polishes.
But I have to say, I like the Essie salon bottles (and names) much better than the retail ones. Even though they’re not that different. What do you think?
